Tough Shelters builds container shelters, pole shelters and livestock shelters that stand up to whatever New Zealand throws at them: wind, rain, sun or storms.

Our framing is up to 50% heavier gauge than others on the market, with 610gsm PVC canopies, double-stitched sleeves, hot-dip galvanised steel, and a tension tube and ratchet system that keeps covers tight without ropes. Every shelter is engineered to AS/NZS 1170.2:2021, made in an ISO 9001-accredited factory, and backed by a 12-year frame warranty and 10-year canopy warranty.

• Pole shelters, a faster and more flexible alternative to a traditional pole shed

Shelters mount to shipping containers, timber or steel posts, or concrete blocks. They can be moved, extended or reconfigured as your needs change. We can supply the containers too, provide engineering documents for building consent, and often dispatch stocked sizes within 24 hours.

We’re a 100% New Zealand-owned family business based in Paengaroa and Whakatāne, with backgrounds in farming, commercial business, logistics and quantity surveying. We deliver and install nationwide, or you can build it yourself as a kitset. Our quotes are straight up, with no hidden extras.
