Scarboroughs housing stock creates specific plumbing demands we know well. The post-war neighbourhoods Clairlea, Oakridge, Bendale, and Dorset Park have homes built 1945 – 1965 with galvanized supply lines and cast iron drain stacks that are at or past end-of-life. These pipes corrode from the inside, restricting water pressure and eventually failing without warning. The Highland Creek watershed area and low-lying sections near Lake Ontario face  groundwater pressure in spring, making sump pump reliability a genuine concern.
