Topology Studio is a Melbourne-based architectural practice founded in 2012 by Darren Kaye and Amy Hallett, operating on the lands of the Yalukit Willam People of the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and the wider Kulin Nation. Rooted in the belief that great architecture begins with place, we approaches every project by deeply understanding its site, its physical landscape, climate, cultural history, and social context to create spaces that are bold, meaningful, and unmistakably tied to where they stand.

With a portfolio spanning residential, multi-residential, hospitality, and public projects across coastal, heritage, urban, and rural settings, our design-intensive, process-driven approach has earned recognition from the Australian Institute of Architects, Architeam Awards, Houses Awards, and the Victorian Premier’s Design Awards, among others.

Sustainability sits at the heart of our practice. Materials and services are chosen for longevity and environmental responsibility, with a commitment to adaptive reuse and the integration of locally sourced, recycled, and vintage elements wherever possible. Light, proportion, materiality, and efficiency serve as both tools and signature.
