Description

LA Retaining Walls brings retaining wall drainage system installation to historic homes, Craftsman properties and hillside lots in Pasadena. Retaining wall drainage systems use perforated pipe along the base of the wall, wrapped in filter fabric and surrounded by clean gravel backfill. Along the Arroyo Seco and the northern foothills, Pasadena properties often face runoff from the slopes above, making drainage behind walls especially important. Pasadena has its own building and permitting department, and its many historic homes often need walls that respect the character of Craftsman and revival architecture. Clay soils absorb water slowly and then swell, putting sustained pressure on any wall without a way for water to escape. Discharge points are planned so water leaves the property safely without damaging foundations, hardscape or neighboring property. Existing walls can be retrofitted with drainage to relieve pressure and extend their life. LA Retaining Walls also provides design consultations and permitting throughout the county. Nearby communities served include unincorporated LA County, the South Bay and Redondo Beach.
